Richie Campbell - Everytime I Cry
Richie started out in the music business making his debut with the Reggae Dancehall band, Stepacide (feb. 2004), which still remains his main project. Later he joined the No Joke Soundsystem as a toaster and is now working also on a parallel solo project, voicing riddims.
Richie has already been featured on several mixtapes all over Europe and has voiced dubplates for such sounds as Soundquake, Mighty Crown (5 time World Clash Champions), Kanga Roots, City Lock (Riddim Clash Champion 2009).
In 2008 the release of “Held In” on Supersonic’s Devils Angels Riddim carried Richie into the 4th position on Soundquake.com’s TOP SALES chart. In the same year the hardcore reality tune “Dem Say Dem a Gangsta” enjoyed a lot of success being played in every dance across Europe and featured on some of the most important Soundclashes of the year.
In his home country, Portugal, Richie Campbell is one of the most recognized reggae-dancehall artists and stated by many, as the biggest talent that has ever emerged in the Portuguese Reggae scene.
At the moment Richie Campbell is working on his debut album with legendary guitarrist Ron Butler (ex. Israel Vibration, Steel Pulse, Morgan Heritage, Slightly Stoopid etc.) which is to be released in 2010 and is set to be a breath of fresh air to the Reggae Industry with influences ranging from Dancehall to Gospel and Soul.
The single “Everytime I Cry” released in 2009 brought him a lot of radio air play in the summer, and still continues to be played throughout 2010.
